Mold is a type of fungus.

It exists almost everywhere, including the air. In general, regular amounts of mold in the environment do not pose a significant health risk to healthy people with permanent immune system function.

There is not one type of mold called “black mold” – many molds are black. When people use the term, they may mean a type called Stachybotrys chartarum (S. chartarum), also called Stachybotrys atra.

There is no scientific evidence to suggest that exposure to S. chartarum is more dangerous than exposure to any other type of mold.

However, some people may be more susceptible to mold pores than others and may develop respiratory symptoms after inhaling even a small number of spores. In large quantities, mold spores can cause poor health in almost anyone.

Therefore, people should remove any mold growth in the house and take steps to prevent its growth back.

In this article, we explore some of the facts and myths surrounding black mold exposure. We also describe ways to remove and prevent mold growing in the home. Mold removers air fresheners

How dangerous is black mold to health?

Some templates can release mycotoxins.
It is widely believed that black mold – sometimes referred to as toxic mold – can cause serious health problems because it releases mycotoxins. Microtoxins are toxic substances that a fungus produces.

Certain sources in the study indicate that S. chartarum microtoxins are associated with serious health problems in people living in polluted buildings.

One such health concern is mycotoxicosis – mold poisoning. Others include:

Aches and pains
Mood changes
Loss of memory
Bleeding from the nose
To date, there is no evidence that inhalation of mold spores causes these symptoms.

However, mold exposure can cause other symptoms. According to the Florida Department of Health, it can cause the following types of health problems:

Allergy and irritation
People with allergies may be more susceptible to mold than others. If they come in contact with mold, they may experience symptoms such as:

Runny or blocked

Dry cough
Skin rashes
sore throat
Severe mold allergies cause more severe symptoms, including shortness of breath.

Exposure to mold may even aggravate asthma or lung problems in people with pre-existing lung problems.

A 2012 study found that infants and young children exposed to mold at home were at increased risk of developing asthma by age 7. The study looked at 289 homes and 36 types of mold.

However, S. chartarum was not among the three types of workers most associated with asthma development.

A 2004 study published by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) suggests that recreation in moist internal spaces is associated with respiratory symptoms, including those with asthma.

For most people with a healthy immune system, molds are not a problem.

However, people with weakened immune systems – such as those with HIV uncontrolled, transplanted patients or people undergoing cancer treatment – are at risk for fungal infections.

Toxic effects

Some people believe that black mold is especially dangerous because it releases mycotoxins. However, the fact is that all molds are capable of producing mycotoxins. Just because mold exists doesn’t mean it produces these toxins.

Most cases of mycotoxicosis result from eating mold food, rather than inhaling fungal spores at home or outdoors. Evidence does not indicate that inhaling or touching mold can cause mycotoxicosis.

The 2004 IOM report failed to back up claims that issues such as fatigue, lung disease or cancer are due to exposure to mold.

The Center believes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that there are very few reports of unique or rare health conditions that result from mold at home.

Many types of indoor mold

– not just black mold – seem to cause health problems in some people, but not all.

However, long-term exposure to mold at home may be unhealthy for anyone.

People who are most at risk for mold exposure are:

People with allergies or asthma
People with weakened immune systems
The main health concerns appear to be related to allergies and irritations, which usually cause respiratory symptoms.

People with weakened immune systems may also be at risk for fungal infection.

A person suspected of having an allergy to mold should talk to a doctor.
A doctor may diagnose an allergy to mold based on a person’s symptoms and medical and family history. They may also perform tests, including:

Skin prickles test, to check for common allergens reactions
Blood tests to measure the immune system’s r
